Data Buoy 2300
Oceanographic, Meteorological & Environmental Data Buoy and Navigation Buoy
The oceanographic Data Buoy 2300 uses the latest cutting edge technology and is the leading data collection buoy of its kind in the world. Designed for the exclusive purpose of providing reliable and precise marine data, for the most demanding of customers.
High precision wind measurement is the standout feature of the oceanographic Data Buoy 2300, but its modular design and on-board computer system provides a flexible platform that allows for the addition of all manner of data capture systems, as defined by the customer.
True wind speed and direction, air and sea temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, wave data, current profiles radar transponder and pollution information are just some, among the many data parameters the data monitoring buoy can be configured to capture.
The on-board electronics are powered by a series of battery backed solar panels, allowing the buoy to run continuously. Remote management features allow re-configuration, upgrades & management from the MDS Buoy Data Centre.
The network of 22 oceanographic monitoring buoys designed and managed by the founders of the Marine Data Service deployed off the coast of Spain over the last four years recorded a 99% uptime. Providing over 180-million wind samples to its clients, who relied upon the information to assist them in making multi-million euro decisions. The data buoy that has now been developed is arguably at least one generation (possibly two) ahead of anything else that is currently on the market, including the system previously developed for the America's Cup.
The data monitoring buoy can also be manufactured in a range of differently shaped superstructures and colours, as can the navigation light (as defined by IALA regulations) allowing it to be used as a dual purpose Oceanographic Buoy / Navigational Marker Buoy. Or if purchased without the Met. mast and electronics package solely as a Navigational Marker Buoy.
