Buoy Data Centre
Data is transmitted to the MDS Buoy Data Centre ensuring all data buoys, land stations and weather boats are fully monitored and managed by our skilled staff. This in turn allows us to provide the highest availability and accuracy of the data through advanced warning and proactive resolution of faults.
The MDS Buoy Data Centre then makes both real-time data and historical data available through a secure internet connection and a number of different interfaces, such as the included real-time data display.
Battery charge status, system faults and alerts, plus a number of other parameters are sent in real-time back to the MDS Buoy Data Centre to warn of problems or of potential failure conditions on the buoy. In case of a collision or malicious tampering with the data buoys mooring, the internal GPS will detect a significant deviation in coordinates and provide immediate notification, plus recovery position information to the MDS Buoy Data Centre.
Firmware and software are remotely upgraded from the MDS Buoy Data Centre, so that the end user always benefits from the latest advances attained from our continuing research and development programmes.
